It's a simple problem, and Hilton Garden Inn has created a simple solution. Responding to feedback from its guests, all North American properties in the chain now sell the PowerMobile universal cellphone battery charger in their on-site convenience stores. The company says it's the first mid-priced hotel brand to offer the forgotten charger solution to guests.

The idea came from an Ask the Traveler survey the brand commissioned last year, in which 31 percent of respondents cited cellphone chargers as the item most forgotten while traveling for business. The survey, administered at two Hilton Garden Inn properties, gave the chain a gauge of likes and dislikes of its core business traveler market. Brand officials say they'll use the results to devise other solutions to traveler needs and preferences.
