The Embassy Suites Denver-Downtown/Convention Center has become the first Denver hotel and the first of the brand to earn LEED Silver certification. The property has 403 suites, 14 meeting rooms and 25,000 square feet of meeting space. A flowing water feature and a 13-story glass “sky curtain” highlight the rich organic atrium lobby. Some of the sustainable design and project features that helped earn the Silver rating: recycling of scrap materials during construction, using concrete from the parking garage that was previously on the site, using solar reflective material on the roof and energy-efficient glazing on all windows to reduce heat transmission and energy needs, using rapidly renewable bamboo, choosing plumbing and lighting to conserve water and electricity and ongoing green housekeeping and recycling practices … The AffiniaManhattan hotel is finishing up a $25 million redesign by the RockwellGroup that will add 89 rooms to bring the total to 616. The missive for the Rockwell Group was to create an urban retreat within the historic building. Guestroom designs were inspired by art studios and feature an architect’s light on the plush headboard, track lighting and a custom-designed glass artist’s table … The new 107-room HiltonGardenInn in Oklahoma City features an electrifying and contemporary looks thanks in part to MozArchitecturalMetals, which created several unique features: a 12-foot “wall-weave” room divider and a waterfall-patterned bar front with color-changing LEDs. The look starts in the reception center as 18-foot-high columns from Moz are wrapped with 24-inch-square columns and finished in a bamboo pattern with a Brazilian cherry tone … TheBenjamin in New York City recently completed a $7 million renovation of the lobby, restaurant, meeting space and 209 guestrooms led by MohnDesignStudio … HVScompass Design recently rebranded and will now be known as HVSDesign … ForrestPerkins recently transformed the grand lobby, 75,000 square feet of ballrooms and meeting space and 32 bi-level suites and designed a new restaurant at the InterContinentalDallas.
