Suite Dreams at Hotel Monaco Chicago
The Hotel Monaco Chicago, part of the collection of Kimpton Hotels, knows the importance of a good night's sleep.
KN Karen Neuburger was commissioned last year to create a sleep sanctuary for the luxury boutique hotel.
The KN Tranquility Suite opened in February and covers 450 square feet on the 11th floor of the luxury boutique hotel. The living room and bedroom areas feature 10-foot ceilings and showcase select KN Luxury Home products, including a KN Twin Story Coil on Coil Mattress by Simmons.
The suite was designed by Brandie Pittelkow, who was selected from a group of student designers from The Illinois of Art Schaumburg's Hospitality Design Program. Pittelkow earned a $1,500 scholarship.
The suite's main focal point is a large, wall-mounted natural stone water fountain that provides soothing sounds of flowing water. Sitting above a mirrored banquet, the fountain is complemented by the suite's warm beige and rich burgundy colors.
The room, perfect for business travelers, couples and families, stocks a supply of heating pads, sleep masks, massage rollers, neck pillows, a towel warmer, sound machine and children's toys. Guests also can relax in furniture that includes a high wing-back hair, two brown Leondardo-style chairs and four large window seats accented with KN Euro pillows.
The suite offers incredible views of the Chicago skyline and Chicago River, while providing a serene setting to rest and relax.
Other highlights include textured rugs, warm diffused lighting and a unique sunburst mirror in the bedroom, all surrounded in wall coverings with a KN influenced leaf design.
