Furnishing The Job In Atlanta
The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead and design firm BBG-BBGM put American of Martinsville's new tagline — We're there. Start to Furnish — to the test with a massive renovation project.
The 22-story luxury hotel contracted AOM to provide more than 500 customized casegoods for the guest-rooms, suites and club lounge.
The custom casegoods feature beech solids in a honey maple finish, and quartered and figured anigree veneers. Standard pieces in the guestrooms include headboards, desks, oval nightstands and TV cabinet dressers, while suites feature king-sized upholstered headboards, credenzas, demi lunes, dining tables, end tables, nightstands and dressers.
“We wanted the pieces to be somewhat modern in their approach but also classic with some traditional elements,” says Dianna Facci, lead designer on the project and a senior associate at BBG-BBGM.
American of Martinsville worked with BBG-BBGM and purchasing company Benjamin West to develop the distinct collection. Facci said the firm designed the pieces from scratch with direction from the clients and then AOM made them a reality. Once the mockups were evaluated and modified, the final pieces were produced.
“AOM was very helpful in that process,” Facci says. “We'd come up with a sketch, they'd take it and make it real by creating a rendering. That was quite helpful for the client and our design direction. I'm very happy with the outcome. The product is very true to what we had envisioned.”
AOM introduced its new look and tagline at the HD Expo earlier this year in Las Vegas.
