Hilton Pulls CBS Ads Over Letterman Flap

According to news reports, Embassy Suites has pulled its ads from CBS’s website as a response to the controversy over talk show host David Letterman’s off-color jokes about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s daughter. Letterman has since apologized for the remarks, but for now, Embassy and parent company Hilton Hotels won’t advertise on the site. Neither Hilton nor Embassy advertise directly on Letterman’s TV show.

Hilton spokesperson Kendra Walker says the company has received “lots of e-mails from concerned guests and we assessed that the statement he made was offensive enough to our guests and prospective guests that we elected to take the ads down.”
