Marcuses Seek Increased Room Remand for Downtown
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett met with Marcus Corp. Chairman Steven Marcus and President and CEO Greg Marcus Friday morning to hear their concerns about plans for the downtown Marriott Hotel. Barrett told me the executives at Marcus, which operates three downtown hotels, didn't lobby him against the Marriott, which Barrett supports. "Their concern is they want more demand for hotel rooms in the city," Barrett said. Greg Marcus told me he wants a "game plan" from city officials on stimulating demand.
