Embassy Suites Hits No. 200
The Embassy Suites Minneapolis-Brooklyn Center became the brand’s 200th hotel this week, its second Design Option III prototype and Brooklyn Center’s first new hotel in a decade.
The 175-suite hotel, owned by Brooklyn Hotel Partners and managed by The Oliver Companies, is the fourth Embassy Suites in the greater Minneapolis area, but the first with the new environmentally friendly prototype and the new “hip-casual” Flying Spoons restaurant concept.
“We are excited to expand our presence in the
Minneapolis/St. Paul area,” said Jim Holthouser, global head of full-service
brands for Hilton. “Roughly 75 percent of our pipeline of 60 hotels is the Design
Option III build, which has been well-received by both the development
community and our guests.”
The new design offers a more residential feel, featuring a
side-by-side layout vs. the more traditional shotgun, front-to-back suites,
which allows for more daylight into both the living room and bedroom. It also
offers developers the same benefits of the traditional Embassy Suites, but with
lower building costs on less land with a scalable key count and flexible
layout. Flying Spoons is part European-style café and part American
coffeehouse, giving guests an efficient, flexible and comfortable approach to
dining.
The brand debuted the new look earlier this year with the
Embassy Suites Jackson-North/Ridgeland, the first Embassy Suites in the state
of Mississippi.
