Barcelo Hotels & Resorts

The Barcelo Palace Hotel, a 765-unit all-suite luxury property, is set to open at The Barcelo Maya Beach Resort in Mexico, at year end.

Best Western

Properties recently joining the membership organization include the Best Western Hotel at the Convention Center, Long Beach, CA; and the Best Western Atlantic Beach Resort, Miami Beach, FL.

Carlson Hotels

A 59-room Park Inn opened recently in Sault Sainte Marie, MI.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

A new 185-room Fairmont is scheduled to open in Pittsburgh in summer 2009. It will be located in Three PNC Plaza, a mixed-use green building complex.

Fairmont Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt, is a new hotel slated to open this summer. Also, the company assumed management of an adjacent hotel, formerly known as the Sheraton Heliopolis.

Graves World Hospitality

Graves has signed Mona Lisa at Celebration in Florida. The luxury condo hotel is under construction in the master-planned community that is directly connected to Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Hilton Hotels

Marcus Hotels and Resorts opened the 225-room Skirvin Hilton in Oklahoma City.

New Castle Hotels & Resorts acquired three Hampton Inns in cooperation with the Widewaters Group, a real estate development and management company. New Castle will manage the properties located in Solon, OH; Erie, PA; and Greece, NY.

The Hampton Inn & Suites-Boise/Downtown (ID) opened as the brand's 1,400th property.

Hyatt Hotels

The Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center & Spa in Weston, FL, recently opened following a $100-million renovation.

InterContinental Hotels

IHG opened its eighth Hotel Indigo, in Ottawa, Canada. Gillin Engineering & Construction Ltd. owns and Atlific Hotels & Resorts manages the 106-room property.

The El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio is now a Holiday Inn.

The Holiday Inn Express San Jose-Forum, Costa Rica, broke ground as the first Holiday Inn Express in Central America. It's slated to open in March 2008.

IHG will manage the 280-room InterContinental in Kiev, Ukraine, on behalf of local owner Yaroslaviv Val. It opens in 2008.

Marriott International

Larry Blumberg & Associates will add 10 Marriott-branded hotels to its portfolio this year: two Courtyards, in Prattville and Trussville, AL; a SpringHill Suites in Columbus, GA; two TownePlace Suites hotels, in Huntsville, AL and Columbus, GA; and a Residence Inn in Dothan, AL. LBA will manage four of the properties, all new builds: two Fairfield Inn & Suites, in Jacksonville and Marianna, FL; a TownePlace Suites in Jacksonville, NC; and a Residence Inn in Greensboro, NC.

Pyramid Hotel Group will open the New Orleans Marriott Metairie at Lakeway this spring.

The Iberville Suites opened last month. The 230-unit property is part of The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of New Orleans complex, which also includes The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans and The Maison Orleans.

The Renaissance Syracuse (NY), formerly the Marx Hotel & Conference Center, recently opened. New Castle Hotels & Resorts manages the 280-room hotel.

Residence Inn hotels are now open in Neptune, NJ and Southaven, MS.

The SpringHill Suites Dayton South/Miamisburg (OH) opened recently. N.P. Motel Systems, Inc. owns and manages the 84-suite property.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites, Edmond, OK opened last month. It's owned and managed by Kajal Inn, Inc. Hotel Equities opened the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Alpharetta, GA.

Morgans Hotel Group

Mondrian Scottsdale (AZ) opened in January. The 194-room property is located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale and features an Asia de Cuba restaurant.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts

Crestline Hotels & Resorts is the management company for The Westin Reston (VA) Heights, slated to open this spring. Other Westin openings include The Westin Tysons Corner in Falls Church, VA and, opening in 2010, The Westin Xian, China.

MHI Hospitality Corp. will rebrand a former Ramada Inn in Louisville, KY as a Sheraton hotel.

In Japan, the Miyako Tokyo Hotel and Miyako Osako Hotel have been reflagged as The Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo and The Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka respectively. They are owned by Kintetsu Hotel Systems Inc.

Starwood Hotels and Morgan Stanley Resl Estate have entered into a joint-venture agreement to acquire the 802-room Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel from Taisei Corporation Group.

Four Points by Sheraton Shanghai, Daning is the seventh Starwood property in the metropolitan city of Shanghai.

Four Points by Sheraton signed its first hotel in Guangzhou, China: Four Points by Sheraton Guangzhou, Dongbao.

Sheraton will manage the Sheraton Huadu Resort in Guangzhou, Guangdong province of China. It's scheduled to open in January 2009.

Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts

The new Swissôtel Tallinn, Estonia will open this summer. OÜ Tornimäe Hotell owns the 238-room property.

WorldHotels

WorldHotels welcomes Copenhagen's five-star Hotel D'Angleterre in Denmark, part of the Remmen Hotels Group. It will become WorldHotels' first Deluxe Collection member in that country when it joins the group on July 1.
