Two local firms — First Hospitality Group and Northern Realty Group — created a unique Hampton Inn in a 100-year-old office and theater building in downtown Chicago. The 135-room Hampton Majestic-Chicago Theatre District Hotel sits on the top 17 floors of the Majestic Building, which also houses the LaSalle Bank Theater.
The group spent $20 million on the 18-month renovation to create the hotel. While it includes standard Hampton facilities and amenities, the property takes its design cues from the 1906 architecture of the building and its heritage as a theater venue.
The Nederlander Organization owns the theater, which will undergo a restoration.
