Wingate Aligns With Wyndham
Wyndham Hotels and Wingate Inns are now one, sort of. The two chains, both part of the Wyndham Hotel Group, will share resources in marketing, sales and training. Company officials made the announcement at last month's Wingate Inn conference in Puerto Rico.
To formalize the relationship, the Wingate brand was renamed Wingate by Wyndham and has a new logo. Consumers will be able to access the two brands on both websites and through each reservations number.
Wingate will use Wyndham's One-to-One training program and will adopt some of Wyndham's amenities, including the Michael Graves-designed MP3 clock radio and single-cup coffeemaker.
“Geographically, the brands complement each other with Wyndham properties primarily in resort and center-city locations and Wingate hotels in secondary markets,” says Steve Rudnitsky, Wyndham Hotel Group chairman and CEO. Collectively, the two brands have about 230 properties. “The Wyndham brand provides the Wingate brand with increased consumer awareness. Conversely, the Wingate brand gives Wyndham an established counterpart in the midscale without food and beverage segment.”
