WYNDHAM TIMESHARE ROLLS ON
It's been a good couple of months for Wyndham Vacation Ownership. Last month, the company reported that sales in the fourth quarter of 2006 topped $469 million, up 30 percent over the same quarter in ‘05. The increase was driven by a 17-percent rise in tour flow and an eight-percent increase in volume per guest. The company has also been busy on the development front:
Early January marked the opening of the Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk, a 195-unit project that's part of Honolulu's largest-ever redevelopment project. The property is the result of a $54-million renovation of the former Ohana Reef Tower hotel.
The firm purchased the Grand Beach Palace, a former Renaissance Hotel, on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Wyndham plans to spend $40 million to convert the 290 hotel rooms into 143 timeshare units.
