Hilton Fights “Prestige” Complaint

Hilton says it will “vigorously defend” its new Prestige Portfolio against a trademark infringement complaint filed against the company by Prestige Resorts & Destinations. Ltd., a Minneapolis-based meeting and incentive group planning service that works with a portfolio of 60-plus resorts and 30 destination management companies. The company says it’s used the Prestige name for “decades” and Hilton’s use of the name “is likely to cause confusion and mistake among members of the trade and public.”

Hilton spokesperson Robert Allegrini says the company has filed an answer to the complaint. Hilton recent formed the Prestige Portfolio as an umbrella for its new lifestyle and luxury brand portfolio that includes Conrad Hotels & Resorts, the Waldorf-Astoria Collection and the new Denizen Hotels.
