Jekyll Island Resort Closes Abruptly

Property Suffers 10-Percent Revenue Decline
The Jekyll Oceanfront Clarion Resort has notified the Jekyll Island Authority that it will cease operations on Monday.
No reason was given why owner Leslie Lurken is closing the hotel. Jekyll Island Authority documents show room revenue at the hotel declined by 10 percent from 2009 to 2010. Click here for the full story.
