GRANDE STATEMENT IN FORT LAUDERDALE
The Fort Lauderdale Grande Hotel & Yacht Club is wrapping up a $60-million transformation in South Florida. The revitalized hotel, formerly the Fort Lauderdale Marina Marriott, debuted its modernized guestrooms, lobby and common areas a day after Christmas and renovations to the property's pool area, outdoor lounge and marina villas should be finished next month.
The award-winning design team from Barry Design Associates transformed the 589-room property into a modern luxury hotel that combines contemporary design with comfort and functionality. The new guestrooms are highlighted by ocean-inspired blue and green colors set against neutral sand tones that blend together with hand-selected sleek furnishings and scenic floor-to-ceiling views.
“The renovation of the Fort Lauderdale Grande is a total transformation and spectacular rebirth of a property that enjoys a fabulous location in the heart of a city that is also enjoying a metamorphosis,” says General Manager Carlos Molinet. “Our new look capitalizes on the city's resurging focus on luxury, while retaining an affordable sensibility.”
Functional and fun, the lobby features a swanky, laid-back look with lounge seating, stylish furnishings and a lower-level deck across from the hotel's inlet marina. Redesigned to bring energy and a sense of welcome, the color-splashed open space easily transitions from day to night with Antea, a perfect spot to grab light fare and a cocktail before heading out to see the setting sun.
The new signature restaurant, Jeffrey Chodorow's China Grill, designed by Jeffrey Beers, will offer Asian-inspired world cuisine and is set to open in April.
