Marriot Project Has a Second Story
One of Marriott's newest vacation club properties has several unique unit types. Marriott's Lakeshore Reserve at Grande Lakes, which is under development in Orlando, will feature both two-story townhomes and two-bedroom, two-bath lock-off villas with two master suites. According to the company, the project will have the first two-story units in North America
The project, which kicked off with a July groundbreaking, is also the first Marriott Vacation Club on the same grounds as a J.W. Marriott and a Ritz-Carlton hotel. The three products share the 500 acres of the Grande Lakes Orlando development, and while timeshare owners will have their own recreation amenities, they'll also have access to the restaurants, spa and golf course within the development.
At build-out, the vacation club project will have 340 villas and townhomes in six floor plans ranging from 1,185 to 1,655 square feet. Initial per-week pricing will go from $26,000 to $40,000. Marriott made kitchens a focus of the unit designs because as one company official said, “Contrary to popular opinion, timeshare owners make more than just restaurant reservations in their units.” The Lakeshore Reserve units feature large, fully equipped kitchens with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances.
First phase of the timeshare development is scheduled to open by summer 2010.
