The $35-million Embassy Suites Mexico City-Reforma marks the start of Embassy Suites' expansion into Latin America. Landmark Hotels Group completed construction on the first hotel in the brand in Mexico late last year.

Built in the late 1950s as a government office building, the structure survived the 1985 earthquake but remained vacant for years before its adaptive reuse conversion in late 2005 to the Embassy Suites Hotel.

The 18-story, 162-suite boutique-style hotel is owned by Promotora Paseo de la Reforma. Its contemporary design translates across international tastes and appeals to a diverse clientele. The designers aimed to convey the vibrancy and colors of Mexico within the upscale suite concept. Much of the ff&e was sourced in Mexico through local manufacturers.
