Four Seasons Aviara

Broadreach Capital Partners acquired majority ownership of the Four Seasons Resort Aviara in Carlsbad, CA from Aviara Resort Associates. This is a recapitalization of the ownership structure with Maritz, Wolff & Co. remaining an active stakeholder. The luxury resort is the first significant hotel acquisition by Broadreach since May 2006, when it closed on a real estate investment fund of $700 million.

Four Seasons Hotels

Microsoft's Bill Gates and Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal agreed to take Four Seasons Hotels private in a $3.8-billion deal based on a $82-per-share stock value. Following completion of the transaction, Four Seasons would be owned by affiliates of Cascade Investment, an entity uniting Gates, a trust for the prince and his family, and Isadore Sharp, Four Seasons founder and CEO.

Hampton Inn Buckhannon

Mayfair Hotels acquired the Hampton Inn of Buckhannon, WV from a Mid-Atlantic hospitality owner/operator for $3.875 million. The sale by FDGJR Buckhannon WV Hospitality was structured by The Mumford Company.

Quality Inn Ocean City

Sunburst Hospitality bought the beachfront Quality Inn Hotel & Resort in Ocean City, MD for $18 million, signaling Sunburst's intent to acquire more Mid-Atlantic resort properties.

Shores Resort & Spa

Noble House Hotels & Resorts sold the 212-room luxury ocean-front Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach Shores, FL for $39.8 million to Lowe Enterprises Investors. Destination Hotels & Resorts will assume management of the 11-story property.

Travaglini Enterprises

The Quality Inn & Suites and Super 8 hotels of Erie, PA have been sold to Travaglini Enterprises for $5.92 million in a deal facilitated by The Mumford Company on behalf of Aanand Hotels of America.
