A design dream team has come together in Las Vegas for The Harmon Hotel, Spa and Residences at the $7.4-billion MGM Mirage CityCenter set to open in fall 2009. The Light Group and MGM Mirage signed Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners to serve as the architects with Scott Avjian Design Inc. and the Rockwell Group's Richardson Sadeki and David Rockwell.
The Harmon will be the first luxury boutique-style hotel in Vegas. The tower, set to be one of the tallest on the Strip, will have 400 hotel rooms and the top 20 floors will be dedicated to luxury residences, with 207 condominiums ranging from 1,000 to 4,200 square feet. Residents will have full access to the hotel's stylish amenities, including the conference facility, concierge, salon, fitness center, gourmet dining, luxurious spa, pool deck, valet parking and housekeeping.
With its location on Harmon Avenue, the new hotel will serve as the gateway to CityCenter, a city all unto itself, built between the Bellagio and Monte Carlo. The entire project, including The Harmon, aims to be LEED certified, the first resort project in Nevada and the largest anywhere with that designation.
