Florida Considers Strong Timeshare Resale Protection Law

Complaints Skyrocket Four-Fold
Attorney General Pam Bondi unveiled a proposal Tuesday that would attempt to crack down on time-share resale companies that Bondi says are scamming older Floridians who are desperate to unload their properties in a down economy. Bondi, flanked by two Orlando-area lawmakers, laid out proposed legislation that would limit resellers' ability to take money from potential customers in advance, restrict their marketing campaigns and require them to honor cancellation requests or face a fine.
