ENO, a new wine, cheese and chocolate tasting room, opened recently at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, CA. Why didn't we think of this — uniting the three most delectable indulgences in the culinary world — fine wine, artisanal cheese and gourmet chocolate.

The clever concept is the brainchild of Laurence Geller, CEO and president, Strategic Hotels and Resorts. The Puccini Group executed the design concept to create a chic yet inviting and casual wine tasting room atmosphere.

The designer specced an intimate space which features warm walnut woods, accented by rich hues of silver, coral and tangerine. Four communal, boomerang-shaped tables feature place settings with the name of a wine varietal laser-cut into the table and back lit from beneath.

A prominent floor-to-ceiling glass wine storage room takes center stage. A visible cheese cave is located towards the rear of the room for guests to enjoy a view of the stored artisanal cheeses.

The first ENO opened at the InterContinental Hotel in Chicago last year. Additional ENOs are planned for later this year in San Diego and San Francisco.
