REITs were big movers on the hotel acquisition front in 2010 and 2011. Mike Barnello of LaSalle Hotel Properties describes an expected slowdown in hotel REIT acquisition activity for the rest of 2011 due to the delta between sellers and buyers. He believes that the macro environment and the underlying strong fundamentals could increase investor interest in 2012.
