ARAMARK Harrison Lodging

ARAMARK Harrison Lodging recently resumed management of the Dodgertown Sports & Conference Center in Vero Beach, FL. The firm previously operated the 89-room property from 1976 to 2002.

Best Western International

U.S. properties that recently joined the membership group include the 193-room Best Western Charlotte (NC) Uptown; the 60-unit Best Western Lebanon Valley Inn & Suites in Jonestown, PA; the 70-room Best Western Garden Inn in San Antonio; the 57-unit Best Western I-5 Inn and Suites in Lodi, CA; the 40-room Best Western North Shore Lodge in Hastings, NE; the 73-unit Best Western Palms Hotel and Suites in Lubbock, TX; and the 119-room Best Western Northtown Inn in Wichita Falls, TX.

Canadian properties recently entering the system include the 50-room Best Western Grande Mountain Getaways and Hotel in Grande Cache, AB; the 62-unit Best Western Renfrew (ON) Inn and Conference Centre; and the 81-room Best Western Parkland Inn in Yorkton, SK.

Cendant Hotel Group

Cendant Hotels became the official hotel partner of the National Junior College Athletic Association. Under the agreement, NJCAA staff and member colleges have access to Cendant's Sports Desk to book hotel accommodations and other services at the company's eight brands.

Days Inn-Canada has five properties under construction across the country. The hotels, which total more than 350 rooms, include two in British Columbia and one each in Alberta, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick.

Choice Hotels International

The first Sleep Inn in Central America opened last month in San Jose, Costa Rica. The 86-room hotel is the third Choice property in the city.

Recent openings in the U.S. include Comfort Suites properties in Clovis, CA and North Charleston, SC and the 50-room Clarion Collection Clocktower Inn in Ventura, CA.

Four Seasons Hotels& Resorts

Castle & Cooke Resorts selected Four Seasons to manage the Manele Bay Hotel and the Lodge at Ko'ele on the Hawaiian island of Lana'i. The Manele Bay will undergo a $40-million renovation and be rebranded as the Four Seasons Resort Lana'i at Manele Bay.

Global Hyatt Corp.

Hyatt Place will be the brand name for Global Hyatt's new select-service product. Starting this fall and continuing into late 2006, the company will retrofit, reimage and rebrand its corporate and franchised AmeriSuites properties under the new flag.

Hilton Hotels Corp.

Four Homewood Suites by Hilton opened in August in the Cincinnati suburb of Milford; Wichita Falls, TX; Jackson, WY; and Somerset, NJ. The Jackson property is the brand's first in Wyoming.

Crestline Hotels & Resorts opened a new Hilton Garden Inn in Albany, GA in mid-August. Albany Holdings LLC and Albany Tomorrow, Inc. own the 122-room property. In Florida, McKibbon Hotel Management is planning a mixed-used project near the Tampa airport that will have three hotels, including a Hilton Garden Inn.

Embassy Suites and developer John Q. Hammons have been busy lately. Hammons recently opened Embassy properties in St. Charles, MO and Hampton, VA and broke ground on a 308-suite hotel in Concord, NC.

The second Conrad Hotel in Indonesia will open in 2008. PT Majumakmur Arthasentosa is developing the Conrad Jakarta, a 320-suite property that includes 50 Conrad Residences as part of a mixed-use project.

InterContinental Hotels Group

A former Radisson in San Antonio is now the Crowne Plaza San Antonio Airport Hotel. The Hotel Group purchased the property in 2003 and spent $4 million on upgrades before the conversion.

New owner MHI Hospitality Corp. plans to convert the Hilton Jacksonville (FL) Riverfront to the Crowne Plaza brand. The Virginia-based REIT will spend $3 million to renovate and convert the 292-room hotel.

La Quinta Corp.

During the second quarter, La Quinta signed 36 franchise agreements. Nine franchise properties opened in the three-month period, and 110 agreements are in the franchise pipeline.

Ocean Park Hotels, Inc. recently broke ground on a La Quinta Inn & Suites in Stevenson Ranch, CA. The 112-room property will open in December.

Marriott International

The former Oak Brook Hills Resort in Oak Brook, IL was reflagged as the Oak Brook Hills Marriott. Diamond Rock Hospitality Co. owns and Marriott manages the 384-room property.

The newly opened Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa in Birmingham, AL is the brand's first property in the state. PCH Hotels and Resorts owns and manages the 259-room property along the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

Silver Spring Hotel Associates LLC opened a 179-room Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Silver Spring, MD.

Urgo Hotels opened a 188-unit Residence Inn near the Inner Harbor in downtown Baltimore.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts

Richfield Hospitality assumed management of the Sheraton Houston Brookhollow Hotel. The 386-room property is the third Starwood property of which Richfield has taken over management this year.

The 156-room Sheraton Pattaya Resort opened in August on the Gulf of Siam in Thailand.

Sterling Resorts

The Seafarer Condominiums in Destin, FL reopened last month. The 28-unit, Sterling-managed property had been closed to repair damage from 2004's Hurricane Ivan.

Breland Corp. selected Sterling to manage The Shores of Panama in Panama City Beach, FL. The 700-unit condo resort opens next summer.
