Best Western

Properties recently joining the membership organization include the Best Western Orangeburg (SC) Inn and Suites; the Best Western Inn at Circle T in Hamilton, TX; the Best Western Brentwood (TN) Inn and Suites; and Best Western The Hotel California in San Francisco.

Fairmont

The Fairmont Vail, a new resort in Colorado developed by HCT Development, is slated to open in 2011. The 128-room resort will feature 73 Fairmont Residences. The Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel is scheduled to open this fall in Saudi Arabia with 76 stories and 1,005 guestrooms and suites. It will be one of the world's tallest towers and features 76 elevators.

GrandStay

GrandStay Hospitality LLC had its flagship groundbreaking in April with Crossings Inn & Suites by GrandStay in Perham, MN. The 45-unit hotel is slated to open this fall.

Hilton

The Doubletree Hotel Springfield (MO) recently opened while finishing a $9-million renovation project. Formerly the Hawthorn Park Hotel, the 201-room hotel is operated by O'Reilly Hospitality and managed by Noble Hospitality. After a $15-million renovation project, the Doubletree Denver Tech Center opened. The landmark building, formerly the Hotel Denver Tech Center, has 305 rooms and is owned and operated by Stonebridge Companies. Doubletree also added its ninth North Carolina property, the Doubletree Hotel Fayetteville, after an $8-million transformation.

The Hampton Inn & Suites in Columbus, OH opened in April with 145 rooms and is managed by First Hospitality Group.

InterContinental Hotels Group

Kronos Hotels LLC will build a 17-story Crowne Plaza Hotel in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood. The $75-million project will feature 238 rooms and 24 luxury condominium units.

Staybridge Suites is bringing a 104-room hotel to Royersford, PA, its fourth hotel in the Philadelphia market. The 104-room property, owned by Latitude Hotels Group Royersford, is scheduled to break ground this summer and open next spring.

Joie de Vivre Hospitality

JdV will transform a historic office building into The Citizen Hotel, a boutique property in downtown Sacramento. The 197-room property will have nearly 15,000 square feet of meeting space. JdV is partnering with Rubicon Partners on the historic adaptive reuse project, expected to open this fall.

Kimpton

Foulger-Pratt Development signed with Kimpton Hotels & Resorts to open a new boutique hotel in Park Potomac, MD. Part of a mixed-use development, the 156-room hotel is scheduled to break ground later this year and open in 2011.

Kor Hotel Group

Kor will bring its Viceroy brand to Manhattan's Hudson Square neighborhood with a 168-room property within the top 12 newly constructed floors of an office, retail and hotel complex. The hotel is expected to open in 2010.

Marriott International

Marriott expects to increase its portfolio of properties in the Middle East from 26 to 65 through 2011 after four development deals were announced. Nine properties with 2,000 rooms are planned for Egypt, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

Jackson-Shaw broke ground on a Fairfield Inn & Suites and a Residence Inn at The Cascades at The Colony, a 100-acre master-planned community outside Dallas.

The historic Blackstone, a Renaissance Hotel, in Chicago unveiled its new look after undergoing a $128-million renovation by Sage Hospitality. The renovation of the long-dormant Beaux-Arts building is part of the brand's $2-billion global makeover.

Larry Blumberg & Associates Inc. opened its 50th hotel, an 84-room Residence Inn, in Dothan, AL.

A 116-room Fairfield Inn & Suites opened in Baltimore last month and a 158-room Fairfield Inn recently opened in Beachwood, OH after a $13-million conversion.

NYLO

NYLO Hotels' new property in Overland Park, KS will be its fifth location and first in the Midwest. The 160-room hotel, expected to break ground later this year and open next year, will be located in Corbin Park, a mixed-use development.

Starwood

The aloft Dulles South broke ground in Chantilly, VA and is expected to open next spring. The 144-room hotel is owned by Ampac Group and operated by Marshall Management.

The newly built 195-room Westin National Harbor opened in Prince George's County, MD last month as part of a 300-acre lifestyle center.

The St. Regis Singapore is the first internationally branded luxury hotel to open in the country in more than a decade. It features 299 guestrooms and suites.

The Four Points by Sheraton Tempe (AZ) recently opened with 187 rooms and is owned and operated by Twenty4Seven Hotels Corporation.

US Franchise Systems

The Jacksonville Airport Microtel opened in Jacksonville, FL with the brand's new prototype design. SKY Hospitality manages the 77-room property.

Vantage Hospitality

The Lexington Plaza Zhuhai Zobon Hotel opened last month in China. It has 157 rooms and was granted a five-star rating by the Chinese National Tourism Bureau.

Wyndham

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts opened the revitalized 90-room George Washington Hotel-A Wyndham Historic Hotel in downtown Winchester, VA. Owned by GW Development and operated by CB Hotels, the five-story building underwent a multi-million-dollar restoration.

Baha Mar Resorts LTD agreed to manage the 850-room Wyndham Nassau Resort in The Bahamas.

Howard Johnson Canada will build a hotel in Airdrie, Alberta. Construction for the 156-room property is expected to begin later this year.
