A 218-room Courtyard by Marriott near the Kremlin in Moscow contains the chain's 100,000th room. The brand selected Marriott Rewards Gold Member Curtis Howes as the first guest to stay in the property's room 713, which was designated as the official milestone room.

The 22-year-old Courtyard brand has 700 properties in 42 states and 22 countries. Two out of every five Courtyards to open in the next three years will be outside the continental U.S. Eight Courtyards are under construction in five European countries: Italy, Germany, France, Austria and the Czech Republic.

The new Moscow property is the fifth Marriott-branded hotel in the city and the seventh in Russia. The company operates it under a lease-management agreement with BSK-Baltic Construction Co. The hotel has two f&b outlets, a health club and four meeting rooms.
