Design & Decor Handbook
The lodging news releases roll in like waves: announcement after announcement of $20-, $30-, even $100-million construction and renovation projects. In the past we might have “stopped the presses” at the news of projects of such scale and monetary might, but not lately. There's simply too many of them to report on. And it's frustrating on our end, because we'd love to be able to describe and detail and illustrate every exquisite and fabulous design being turned out today.
But as you know, nothing stays the same in this world, especially the hotel industry. The frenzy of recent construction and renovation work will eventually decline, although hopefully not to the point that we're seeing in the volatile and vexing housing market.
In keeping with the fevered pace and demand for new ideas, we present Lodging Hospitality's annual Design & Décor Handbook. It's a handy guide to lodging interior design products and a valuable resource for your property — whether you're looking to simply replace some worn carpeting or create the next great concept, from the ground up.
In addition to the guide, be sure to check out Editor Ed Watkins's report on the total renovation of the Sheraton Orlando (FL) North. It offers an interesting look at the blood, sweat and (most likely) tears that go into a major reconstruction project. Enjoy.
