As an alternative to the typical hotel rollaway bed or fold-out couch, the Hilton Short Hills (NJ) now offers the Portable Serenity Bed. The new bed features a custom-designed plush-top twin-size mattress and bedding that mirrors the hotel's full-sized guestroom beds.

The bed is twice the height of a standard hotel cot and features a super topper mattress pad, down comforter, down pillows and full-size sheets.

“Rollaways are usually a universally uncomfortable experience for adults, and children feel left out because they're not sleeping in a real bed like their parents,” says Paul Grande, the property's director of security and housekeeping. “Our Portable Serenity Beds are not just cots with nice sheets. They're actual beds as comfortable as any standard bed you might sleep on in a fine hotel.”
