David Martin was appointed senior vice president of operations for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. The former head of operations for Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group reports to Peter Strebel, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts president.
Andrew Humphries succeeds Martin Sinclair as general manager of the Four Seasons Resort Nevis. As a regional vice president, Humphries directs projects in the Caribbean for Toronto-based Four Seasons. Sinclair is now GM at The Regent Singapore, a Four Seasons Hotel.
James Evans has come out of retirement to rejoin Stanford Hotels Corp. as executive vice president and chief financial officer. The hospitality veteran was SVP and CFO at San Francisco-based Stanford for more than six years. In related action, Charlie Gray, general manager of the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown hotel, is retiring after eight years with Stanford, the hotel's owner. Succeeding Gray is Sandy Arnold, who is moving from a similar position at the Sheraton Phoenix Airport Hotel.
Ritz-Carlton veteran Tom Donovan will shepherd a $125-million renovation and upgrade of the AAA Five-Diamond Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, in Maui set to be completed in January. He assumes the post of general manager of the Hawaii resort from an executive position at the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, CO.
Roger Leva iwas named corporate secretary of Budgetel Franchise System. Jim Bryson joins Budgetel as managing director for franchise development in the Mid-Atlantic region. Leva is a board member of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association. Bryson joins the upper-economy, limited-service company from Americas Best Value Inns, where he was regional vice president of membership development.
New general manager of the Bellasera Hotel in Naples, FL is Steve McIntire. He had been GM of a sister property, Park Shore Resort, also in Naples.
Richard Mirman joins Kerzner International Holdings as executive vice president/chief marketing officer. He comes to the destination resort development and operations company from Harrah's Entertainment, where he held several marketing positions. In other Kerzner news, Bonnie Biumi was named EVP/chief financial officer, succeeding John Allison. Biumi held the same position at Norwegian Cruise Lines.
Robb Webb ajoins Global Hyatt Corp. as chief human resources officer. He comes to Global Hyatt from Citi, where he was head of global service delivery for Citi employee services.
Matt Rhodes has joined the American Hotel & Lodging Association as director of legislative communications responsible for the media relations and public outreach strategy of the AH&LA's government affairs division. He comes to the hospitality-industry lobby following a 10-year career with the U.S. House of Representatives.
Shawn Hauver was promoted from hotel manager to managing director of the Loews Miami Beach Hotel in South Beach. He has worked at the Miami-area hotel since 1999. Named public relations director at that Loews hotel was Sarah Murov.
Scott House has joined America's Best Franchising as director of development for the state of Florida. He most recently served as group president for Lexington Hotels by Vantage Hospitality Group.
Former CNL Hotels & Resorts CEO and board member Thomas J. Hutchison III is now a senior advisor to KSL and KSL Resorts.
Natalie White joined Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants as director of loyalty marketing. She comes to the San Francisco-based boutique hotel company from Wyndham International, where she helped develop and execute the Wyndham ByRequest guest loyalty program.
Pamela A. Suhr joined Crescent Hotels & Resorts as chief operating officer. Suhr spent 14 years with Interstate Hotels & Resorts, where she rose to senior vice president, sales and marketing.
Carlson Hotels Worldwide hired Brett Zabel as the new director of travel industry relationship. In this new TIR position, Zabel drives synergy between Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Carlson Hotels.
Thom Geshay rejoined Davidson Hotel Company as senior vice president, business development. He spent 20 years with Davidson before becoming SVP, real estate, for Tarsadia Hotels.
Eric Hughes was appointed senior director of franchise sales and development for AmericInn International. He is responsible for an 11-state area in the upper Midwest.
Dave MacRae was named vice president of finance for Tecton Hospitality. He joins the Miami firm from the Omni Resort at Champions Gate, FL.
Former Knights Inn President Ramesh Gokal was named president of Tennessee-based Advantis Hospitality Alliance, a franchise company that operates the Vista Brand of hotels. Most recently, Gokal was senior vice president, lodging & franchising, for Kapoor & Kapoor, a consulting firm.
Peter Koehler was named opening general manager of the InterContinental San Francisco. The 550-room property opens in February.
New general manager of the Hampton Inn in Parsippany, NJ is David Hoy. He had been GM of a Holiday Inn Express in State College, PA.
Vail Resorts named Stan Brown as executive vice president and COO of RockResorts and Vail Resorts Hospitality. Most recently, he was vice president of China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Korea and the Philippines for Marriott International.
Real estate development firm Lowe Enterprises named Robert J. Lowe Jr. president and chief operating officer of its Lowe Hospitality Group. Lowe will add this position to his role as president of Lowe Destination Development.
Sir David M.C. Michels, a member of the Strategic Hotels & Resorts board of directors, was named senior European strategist, a newly created consulting position for the REIT. Michels was CEO of Hilton Group plc from 2000 to 2006 and was CEO of Hilton International in 1999 and 2000.
Stephen J. Gordon joins Loews Hotels as director of website management, a newly created position. He comes to Loews from executive positions at the travel sites Travel By Fingertip and Travelhop.com.
Valerie Thompson was appointed vice president of finance, the Americas, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. She had been vice president of operations accounting for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
Kevin Hyland joined Boykin Management Company as general counsel. He was corporate counsel for Hyland Software.
Stuart Rosenstein was promoted to senior vice president, resorts and theatricals, for Nickelodeon Recreation. He will work with Marriott International and Miller Global Properties to create 20 new Nickelodeon Resorts by Marriott around the globe.
Dave Ruehlmann was named vice president of FST Asset Management. He joints the MTM Luxury Lodging division from Kimpton, where he was vice president of operations for 13 hotels.
Mark S. Oei, a managing director of Oaktree Capital Management, was elected to Lodgian's board of directors. Resigning from the board is Kevin C. McTavish, a director since 2002.
Janine Heath was appointed vice president of operations for Potomac Hospitality Services, an owner-operator of more than 4,000 hotel rooms in the mid-Atlantic region. She had been general manager of the River Inn, a Potomac Hospitality boutique hotel in Foggy Bottom.
