Thomas Storey was named president of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, succeeding Chris Cahill, who will remain COO. Storey most recently was executive vice president of development for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, encompassing Fairmont and its sister brands, Raffles and Swissotel.
Roger Swadish was named chief operating officer of Highland Hospitality, LP by Highland owners J.E. Robert Companies. Swadish comes to Highland after 25 years with Hilton Hotels Corp.
Sandy Michel joined Choice Hotels International as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. She most recently served as EVP and general counsel of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Also at Choice, Chris Malone joined the company as chief marketing officer. He had been senior vice president of Aramark Corp.
Simon Turner was appointed president, global development, for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Turner's resume includes executive positions with Hotel Capital Advisers, Four Seasons, Fairmont Raffles Hotels International and Salomon Brothers.
Concord Hospitality Enterprises hired Grant L. Sabroff as senior vice president of business development. He focuses on growing Concord's third-party management portfolio. He joins Concord from Boykin Management, where he held the same title.
Denise Coll was promoted to president of the North America division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Sheraton veteran Coll was senior vice president of operations for the division.
Joining Vantage Hospitality Group as public relations manager for Vantage's Americas Best Value Inn brand is Anne Houdek. The Hiram College graduate spent more than 10 years at Yopko Penhallurick LLC, a Cleveland-area PR/marketing agency.
Homewood Suites by Hilton promoted Roy Johnson to senior director, product development and service and Adrian Sugars to senior director, brand management. Johnson joined Homewood Suites in 2005, Sugars 10 years ago.
Appointments at Red Roof Inn include Jeff Linden to senior vice president of information technology, John VanDenBerge to senior VP of design and construction, Robert Wallace to senior vice president of franchise and Andrew Alexander to SVP and general counsel.
Duane Quintana and Josephine Allen joined Marshall Management, Inc. as regional director of sales and marketing and marketing manager, respectively. Quintana's experience includes 15 years with Marriott Corp. and executive sales-and-marketing positions with various hotel representation companies. Allen comes to Marshall from Perdue Farms and worked with Marshall in the ‘90s.
Anthony F. Dombrowik was promoted to chief financial officer of Red Lion Hotels Corp., succeeding Anupam Narayan, who recently became president and chief executive officer. Dombrowik was SVP/corporate controller.
Alan Tallis was named executive vice president of Ashford Hospitality Trust's asset management division, Larry Doyle joined Ashford as SVP of asset management and Donald J. Denzin joined as senior vice president of human resources. Tallis was a senior advisor to Blackstone Real Estate Advisors and held executive positions at La Quinta Corp. and Red Roof Inns. Doyle was SVP, asset management for Alcor Acquisition LLC, where he readied the MeriStar portfolio for sale. Denzin was vice president of human resources at Brandywine Realty Trust.
