Cendant Hotel Group named Peter Strebel as president of Wyndham Worldwide, its newly acquired brand. Strebel had been an EVP and chief marketing officer for the Hotel Group. Replacing him in that role is Jean Thomas, who returns to the group from a stint as top marketing executive for the Cendant Travel Content Division.
John W. Marriott III was named chief executive officer of J.W.M Family Enterprises, a private partnership that includes the Marriott family's hotel asset investments. He had been executive vice president of lodging for Marriott International. He also will become vice chairman of Marriott.
Starwood Hotels named Kerry Hatch as president of St. Regis and The Luxury Collection, a newly created position. She joins Starwood from GoodTimes Entertainment, where she was CEO.
Sam Watkins is the new general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Novato, CA. He had been a sales manager in the Marriott Arizona Sales Office and before that national sales manager of the Ritz-Carlton Phoenix.
New general manager of the Claremont Resort & Spa in Berkeley, CA is Michael Czarcinski. He had been vice president of operations for ARAMARK Harrison Lodging.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger named Jim Burba to the California Travel and Tourism Commission. Burba is president of both Burba Hotel Network and Horwath Hospitality & Leisure.
Choice Hotels International named William Edmundson IV vice president, brand management for its new Cambria Suites product. He joins Choice from Hilton, where he was vice president of Hampton brand performance and support.
ARAMARK recently integrated its Harrison Lodging and Parks and Resorts divisions into a new group known as ARAMARK Harrison Lodging. Bruce Fears, who had been vice president of the Parks and Resorts operation, is president of the new group.
Jumeirah named Frank van der Post as senior vice president, Americas. Most recently, he was regional vice president, eastern U.S. and Caribbean, for InterContinental and general manager of The Barclay in New York.
Frank Holstag is the new general manager of Circa 39, the Tecton Hospitality-operated boutique hotel in Miami Beach. He had been director of revenue management for the Bitter End Yacht Club in the British Virgin Islands.
Janis Cannon joined InterContinental Hotels Group as vice president, brand management, for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in the Americas. She had been deputy commissioner of tourism for the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
New general manager of the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, FL is Jamie Yarrow. Most recently, Yarrow was opening resort manager of the Four Seasons Resort in Jackson Hole, WY.
Carlson Companies named Kim Olson as vice president-chief communications officer. She had been director of brand public relations for General Mills.
Nancy Wexler was named director of sales and marketing for Singh Hotels & Resorts in the Florida Keys. Her career has included posts with a variety of independent and chain hotel companies, including Sonesta, Marriott and Grand Heritage.
New general manager of the Holiday Inn Beach Resort in Ventura, CA is Douglas Woods. Most recently, he was GM of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in San Jose, CA.
Appointments at New York City operator Affinia: Beverly Ramsook to director of revenue management and distribution, Jim Zito to director of interactive marketing and development and George Drepaul to general manager of the Eastgate Tower.
