Best Western International named Peter Laigaard Jensen country manager for Denmark and Jurgen Kreipl director of operations for Asia. Jensen oversees development of Best Western in Denmark. Kreipl's focus will be the general managers of all Best Westerns in Asia, who report to him.
Caroline Racine was named director, Caribbean franchise development, for Choice Hotels International. The nine-year Choice employee will focus on recruiting minority franchisees to Choice, as well as on franchisees from non-lodging industries, regardless of ethnicity.
Robert F. Cotter, former president and chief operating officer of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, is the new president of Kerzner International Holdings. He succeeds Butch Kerzner, son of company founder Sol Kerzner. Butch Kerzner died in a helicopter crash last October. Cotter reports to the elder Kerzner.
Edward Hoganson rejoined Crestline Hotels & Resorts as senior vice president of development and finance. Before he held a similar position at a senior living firm, he was acquisitions VP for Crestline predecessor Barcelo Crestline.
Former Hotel Crescent Court Managing Director Elias Assaly is Rosewood Hotels & Resorts' new vice president of operations development. Prior to his post at the Crescent in Dallas, Assaly was general manager of the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco.
Jeff Shockley of Atlanta was named Fairfield Inn and Fairfield Inn & Suites general manager of 2006 by Marriott International. The GM of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott-Buckhead is a 13-year associate of Hotel Equities, which manages the suburban hotel. Shockley earned his first national title in 1998 when he managed Hotel Equities' Fairfield Inn by Marriott-Perimeter Center.
John Arnett was named president and chief executive officer for the Americas for Millennium Hotels and Resorts. The former president of the Kor Hotel Group also is a member of the Millennium & Copthorne board of directors.
David Moth is the new senior vice president of marketing for Boutique Hotels & Resorts International. He comes to the Miami company from Distinguished Hotels International and was director of meetings for the Caribbean Hotel Association.
Stan Kott was named general manager of the Arctic Club Hotel Seattle. He has worked for Kimpton and Noble House and has experience opening new properties like The Hotel Group's Arctic Club, a 120-room luxury downtown hotel scheduled to open in January 2008.
Frank Foster was appointed vice president of marketing and sales for Asia Pacific for Oakwood Worldwide, a global temporary housing and serviced apartment provider. He has 20-plus years of experience in international hospitality, including executive positions with Radisson and Le Meridien.
Victor Tiffany's first responsibility as Tarsadia Hotels' senior vice president of concept development will be the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego's dining, bar and entertainment amenities. Tarsadia comes to management firm Tarsadia from Myriad Restaurant Group. The San Diego Hard Rock is set to open this fall.
There were four new hires at Benchmark Hospitality International: Eric Terry, vice president of sales and marketing; John E. Connor, financial controller; Jim Deranek, director of recruitment; and Robert Villalta, general manager of Benchmark-managed Glen Cove Mansion Hotel and Conference Center in Glen Cove, NY.
