Hilton Hotels Corp. President and COO Matthew Hart was elected to the company's board of directors, bringing their number to 11. The company also announced that Hilton co-chairman and CEO Stephen Bollenbach will continue as co-chairman until the end of 2010 though he is retiring as CEO Dec. 31, 2007. In addition, he will provide consulting services to Hilton Hotels until the end of 2012. A successor CEO is expected to be announced this summer.
Five Hilton Hotels Corp. executives who report to President and COO Matt Hart have new titles: Thomas Keltner, executive vice president and CEO — Americas and global brands; Tim Harvey, EVP, global distribution and chief information officer; Antoine Dagot, adding the title of EVP, Hilton Hotels Corp. to his position as president and CEO, Hilton Grand Vacations Company; and Molly McKenzie-Swarts, promoted to EVP, human resources, diversity and administration. Ian Carter remains EVP, Hilton Hotels and CEO — Hilton International.
Robert Boyle was appointed vice president and general manager of the Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore of Oahu, HI, a Benchmark Hospitality property. Boyle had been managing director of Benchmark's offshore flagship site.
Ted J. Kleisner is the new chief executive officer of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Co., replacing Scott J. Newkam. Kleisner was president and CEO of Greenbrier Resort and Club Management.
Joseph M. Squeri, a 10-year Choice Hotels International executive who recently assumed the top spot as president and COO, is leaving the company to “pursue other professional opportunities.” Charles Ledsinger, Choice vice chairman and CEO, says Squeri's responsibilities will be allocated among the franchise company's executive leadership team. Also leaving Choice, and for the same reason: Michael DeSantis, senior vice president and senior strategic advisor.
Erik Berger was named general manager of the Sheraton Moana Surfrider Resort. An industry veteran of almost 30 years, Berger joins the hotel at Waikiki Beach, Oahu, HI from a similar position at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
Sunstone Hotel Investors, a California REIT, appointed Steven Goldman as CEO.
Goldman succeeds Robert Alter, who becomes chairman of the board.
Renee Ryan was promoted to vice president of marketing of Best Western International. Most recently, she was managing director of field marketing, international communications and consumer marketing and oversaw the membership company's partnerships with NASCAR and AAA.
Peter Kacheris was appointed general manager of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. The Marriott veteran most recently was GM for the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes.
Dale T. McDaniel will be managing director of Loews Lake Las Vegas. He comes to the first Nevada Loews from Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando, a Loews hotel that earned numerous awards under his stewardship.
Claudia Majunke was promoted to vice president of sales at One&Only Resorts. The former executive director of sales and marketing for One&Only is responsible for sales offices and agents in the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Russia and Japan.
At The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park, Rick Evanich was named general manager and David Chase was named hotel manager. Evanich was GM of The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common. Chase was area director of catering & conference services for The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of New York.
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts named Faith Taylor as vice president of innovation and product development. She had been senior director of marketing for the Ramada brand.
Former JetBlue executive Todd Thompson joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts as chief information officer.
