Peter Gowers was appointed chief executive, Asia Pacific and Kirk Kinsell was appointed president, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). Gowers' promotion from chief marketing officer takes effect Nov. 1. He succeeds Tony South, acting chief executive, Asia Pacific, who will resume his post as SVP, development and asset management, for that region. Kinsell's promotion from SVP and chief development officer, Americas, takes effect Sept. 1, also the day Kinsell joins the IHG executive committee.
Mark Neppl was appointed director of online distribution development for Vantage Hospitality Group. He leads online development projects and sets Web 2.0 standards for Vantage's Americas Best Value Inn and Lexington Collection brands.
Frank Ashmore is the new general manager of Carefree Resort & Villas in Carefree, AZ. He had been director of sales and marketing for West Paces Resort Group, operator of the Carefree property.
Christopher Feeney joined Wyndham Worldwide Corp. as senior vice president and treasurer. He was senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions for Sunrise Senior Living and has held positions with Marriott International, Ernst & Young and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
Yvette Colbert and Bob Kaley joined America's Best Franchising in newly created positions. Colbert is director of franchise services, Kaley director of local marketing.
Barbara Bejan was appointed vice president, international brand performance support for the Hilton Garden Inn brand system.
Succeeding her as general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Los Angeles Airport/El Segundo is Maurice Casaus. Bejan began her Hilton career in 1983. Casaus has worked in hospitality for 13 years.
Lynn Ericksen is the new general manager of the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort. He comes to the property from the Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa, where he was GM for the past three years.
Veteran lodging executive Kevin Hanley succeeds Jim MacCutcheon as CEO of Sunburst Hospitality. MacCutcheon is retiring after seven years in that post. Hanley was Sunburst's president and chief operating officer.
Tecton Hospitality appointed Jon K. Wubbena as general manager of the new Betsy Hotel, formerly the Betsy Ross Hotel. The hospitality veteran will oversee a multi-million dollar repositioning and renovation of the Miami Beach property, part of Tecton's Desires Hotels portfolio.
Andrew Humphries succeeds Martin Sinclair as general manager of the Four Seasons Resort Nevis. As a regional vice president, Humphries directs projects in the Caribbean for Toronto-based Four Seasons. Sinclair is now GM at The Regent Singapore, a Four Seasons Hotel.
