Think of HITEC (Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference) as a one-stop shop for the most up-to-date tech innovations in this diverse industry. With hospitality in full recovery, HITEC 2005 should be particularly successful June 20-23 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

“As hotels, resorts, clubs and restaurants gear up for more business in the coming year, they will look to attend the one-stop resource for hospitality technology,“ says Frank Wolfe, CAE, HFTP (Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, producer of the event). “With demand increasing and guests' technology expectations becoming greater, industry professionals will turn to HITEC to learn about and shop for the necessary technology upgrades, products and services.“

At HITEC, companies display the latest hospitality technology products and services. HITEC also offers presentations from experts representing all segments of the industry.

The HITEC trade show offers the best opportunity to compare products, attend demonstrations and have questions answered by representatives of more than 300 companies from around the world, 40 of them first-time HITEC exhibitors. They will announce new products and alliances and feature the most current hospitality technology products and services for front office, f&b, operations, sales, security and more. The number of exhibits has grown from 252 in 1993 to more than 600 last year. Attendance has also leaped, from 38 at the 1972 debut to an expected 5,000 this year.

A conference highlight will be Thursday, June 23, the CIO's Roundtable. Members of what is sure to be a well-attended panel will highlight recent accomplishments, mistakes they have made, and explore what the industry is lacking when it comes to technology. Moderator will be Lalia Rach, associate dean of the Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management, and HVS International Industry Professor at New York University.
