INNOVATIONS IN HOTEL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
A New Way to HSIA
High-speed Internet access is becoming a standard amenity hotels are offering to stay competitive. Connie Buck, general manager of the Quality Inn & Suites, Shamokin Dam, PA certainly knows that. At her former post as GM of the Comfort Inn, Selinsgrove, PA, Buck struggled with erratic and slow dial-up service before turning to Telkonet's HSIA solution.
Using patented powerline communications (PLC) technology, Telkonet delivers broadband Internet access by using a building's existing, standard electrical wiring.
Telkonet's PlugPlus system converts virtually every power outlet in every room to a high-speed data network. Hotel guests gain HSIA via Telkonet's iBridge, which can be included in guestrooms or given to guests at check-in.
“The two installers completed the job within two working days,” says Buck. “There was absolutely no disruption to guests. And the pricing was attractive, too, since Telkonet offers a subscription pricing model.” Circle 70
