Luxury Resort Market Matures
The Registry Collection's recent acquisition of The World's Finest Resorts solidifies parent company RCI's position in the rapidly expanding luxury segment of the resort market. The deal was announced in March at the Ragatz Associates Fractional Interest Symposium. The event drew more than 450 attendees, another sign of the maturity of the high-end resort business.
At the conference, Registry also announced that it will expand its exchange services to developers and owners of high-end condo hotel units. The company will provide these hotel affiliates and members with concierge services, reservations, club operations management and other services.
Properties in The World's Finest Resorts portfolio will be featured as a distinct group within The Registry Collection. WFR owners will continue to have access to other WFR properties, as well as the expanded offerings from Registry, including the new hotel condo units, as they're added to the collection.
Since the announcement of the acquisition, Registry added several more resort properties to its network: The Masterpiece Residence Club at Treetops Resort in Gaylord, MI; The Oceanfront Residence Club at Daufuskie Island Resort (SC); and El Corazon de Santa Fe (NM).
