Dallas-based Mian Companies is invading California. The investment, development and management firm recently opened one property on the Southern California coast and has two more in the works.

The newest property is a 166-room Hilton Garden Inn in the Oxnard/Camarillo area. The company has plans to further develop the site with a 123-unit Homewood Suites by Hilton and a six-story office building. It's also seeking final approvals to build a 162-room beachfront Hilton Garden Inn in Ventura.

In its home state of Texas, Mian operates The Sterling Hotel Dallas and is planning a multi-brand hotel and retail development on an 18-acre parcel adjacent to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport.
