New Steps for La Quinta
The shape of the new La Quinta is becoming more evident. Last month, The Blackstone Group completed its $3.4-billion cash purchase of La Quinta Corp., which operates and franchises more than 600 La Quinta, Baymont and Woodfield Suites properties.
At the same time, two senior-level executives were promoted to direct the company's growth. Wayne Goldberg is the new president and CEO, while Alan Tallis becomes president and chief development officer. Goldberg oversees the day-to-day operations of the company as well as company-owned assets and corporate support departments.
Tallis, an experienced hotel development executive, leads La Quinta's acquisition, development and franchising efforts for both the La Quinta and Baymont brands.
