Choice Hotels International recently named Protect-A-Bed as an approved vendor for the company's brands, says Petra Minoff, vice president of sales for Protect-A-Bed. Protect-A-Bed produces a line of healthy bedding products for the hospitality industry.

Hotel Technology Solutions acquired Lorica Solutions. Joining HTS as equity partners are Enhanced Capital Partners and Stonehenge Capital Company. Lorica developed the Lorica Room Center, a managed converged network designed for the hospitality industry.

Marcus & Millichap recognized Gordon Allred as top hospitality investment specialist in 2006. Allred, a senior investment associate based in Ontario, facilitated transactions valued at $112 million last year.

Gemstone Hotels & Resorts LLC chose Avendra for its procurement needs. Gemstone will utilize a variety of Avendra's procurement programs including food and beverage, rooms operations, administrative and financial services, replenishment, cleaning chemicals and sanitizing systems, and engineering.

Manitowoc Foodservice Group appointed Michael J. Kachmer as president. He most recently was chief operating officer at Culligan International Company.

Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels is expanding its select service division with the promotion of Mark H. von Dwingelo to regional senior vice president — Northeast. He will oversee the select service division's Northeast practice.
