WIND POWER FOR GRAND TETON LODGE
The Grand Teton Lodge Company in Grand Teton National Park, WY is converting to wind power. It aims to offset 100 percent of its energy use by purchasing clean, renewable wind-generated energy. Its vehicle is energy credits equal to the company's entire electricity use. The company will work with Renewable Choice Energy of Boulder, CO as its wind-power provider.

It is physically impossible to deliver electricity straight from a wind farm to GTLC, so the wind energy credits ensure that the amount of electricity GTLC uses is replaced on the power grid with wind power. The aim is to allow travelers to take a “green vacation.”
By purchasing wind-power credits, GTLC, in conjunction with its parent company, Vail Resorts, will avoid more than 211 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions annually. The Environmental Protection Agency equates that to taking 18,000 cars off the road or planting 27,000 acres of trees.
The fact that wind power is the sole source of energy at Grand Teton Lodge aims to facilitate a “green vacation.”
