Hotel Search Engine Room 77 Raises $30M From Expedia, Others
Hotel meta-search engine Room 77 has raised $30.3 million in Series C financing from new investor Expedia as well as existing investors.

Also participating were existing investors including Sutter Hill Ventures, General Catalyst Partners, Concur Technologies, Felicis Ventures, and Expedia founder Rich Barton, former Expedia CEO Erik Blachford and Spencer Rascoff, CEO of Zillow. The company, which didn’t disclose the lead investor, has raised $43.8 million in total.

Room 77, which lets consumers search hundreds of travel sites for hotel rooms, says it has directed “hundreds of thousands” of room nights booked in less than nine months. The company plans to use the funding for building out its technology, as well as international expansion. Room 77 is differentiating from other travel sites by focusing exclusively on hotel search, says Kevin Fleiss, chief operating officer of Room 77. Click here for the full story.
