Hampton Favors Local Flavor
Hampton Hotels says it’s enhancing its web presence with content and photography “produced by Hampton team members and featuring team members to connect guests with the brand’s local personality.” The initiative—called Hampton Focus—resulted from a study that confirmed online consumers are more likely to choose hotels that offer photography and showcase the local flavor of the community.
The program will equip all Hampton hotels in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica and Ecuador with professional-grade equipment and a photography guide. The guide instructs team members on composition, location staging and strategies for capturing local flavor. All photography will be uploaded to Hampton.com.
About 1,134 hotels are signed up for the program and each property is sent its own equipment. A company spokesperson would not disclose the cost of the program, saying the company is “known for being innovative and no doubt competitors will soon follow our example.”
