When the going gets tough, the tough roll out promotions, and three major lodging companies are leading the promotion parade.

At Best Western International, guests who pay with MasterCard can earn double, triple and even quadruple rewards for winter travel. BW Rewards members can earn the equivalent of two free roomnights after staying just four nights, from Jan. 1 through Feb. 14. Nights do not have to be consecutive. Rewards members earn double points for two nights, triple points for three nights and quadruple points for four nights. “We plan to offer our guests a promotion every day of 2009 to help them earn more rewards and faster rewards during a time when it matters most,” said Dorothy Dowling, Best Western's senior vice president of marketing and sales.

Not to be outdone, Marriott Rewards members can earn double miles on 28 miles partners beginning with their second stay, from Feb. 1 through April 30. Members can register for the MegaMiles promotion any time before April 30.

And more than 1,900 Hilton Family hotels in North America will offer up to 20 percent off select rates with 14-day advance booking for stays between Jan. 1 and March 31. “As consumers continue to tighten their business and leisure travel budgets, Hilton Family hotels are providing great rates and value-oriented hotel stays to make their travels more affordable and fulfilling,” said Paul Brown, president - global brands and shared services, Hilton Hotels Corporation.
