Leak from WV Hotel Pool Heater Kills 1, 4 Ill
A natural gas heating unit on a pool at a South Charleston, WV, hotel caused a carbon monoxide leak that left one guest dead and at least four others sick January 31, fire officials said.
The colorless, odorless gas may have built up for several hours at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, said South Charleston fire Capt. Virgil White.
White said an exhaust pipe attached to the outside wasn't working properly. Instead of exiting the building, the carbon monoxide gas remained inside. Click here for the full story.
