The Renaissance Austin (TX) Hotel recently put the finishing touches on a $6-million renovation that encompassed guestrooms, suites, an expanded fitness center and the addition of @ustinbytes, an upscale Internet cafe. Wireless Internet service is now available in the public areas and meeting rooms of the hotel in addition to the high-speed Internet service available in the guestrooms. The property is the cornerstone of the upscale entertainment complex called the Arboretum, a 95-acre park-like setting with more than 80 shops, boutiques, restaurants, movie theaters and walking and jogging paths. With 60,000 square feet of function space, the hotel is a draw for both conventioneers and leisure travelers. “The changes lend a more high-tech and high-touch feel for guests at this authentic and upscale atruim hotel,” says hotel spokesperson Michele Golden.
