Last month in Chicago, LG Electronics USA introduced its SuperSign suite of digital signage solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses. The new products make it simple to use customizable and engaging signage in commercial environments, potentially offering a solution to hotels who want to display digital signage in restaurants, lobbies or resort areas.

“LG’s new SuperSign suite is designed to meet two primary needs of the SMB market—complete turn-key and fully customizable,” said Jeff Dowell, vice president of digital signage for LG Electronics USA Business Solutions. “These solutions satisfy both end-users and channel partners, and we believe we’ve come up with a unique and compelling approach to the market.”

SuperSign Premier is an entry-level product for companies not normally considering digital signage. The turn-key solution provides compelling content and technical support without the need for a system integrator. It includes a flat-panel display and a media player that provides access to content management software and starter templates. News and weather reports are available via feeds from CNN.

SuperSign Elite is a hardware and software platform designed for system integrators who need to build a customized solution for their end-users. The solution works with designated LG displays combined with either the NC1000 standalone or the NC2000 integrated media player. The media player, when connected to a display, allows users to create dynamic content using pre-loaded templates for information sharing or displaying video segments. Intuitive management software makes for quick navigation through menus to control network displays and simultaneously run audio, video, image and flash files.

Also on display was LG’s Pro:Centric technology, a standards-based applications platform created to allow hotels easy communication of up-to-the-minute information to guests via the guestroom TV.
