Flight Info Board Debuts at Hyatt Rosemont
The FlyteBoard,a real-time airline flight information display, has been installed in the lobby of the Hyatt Rosemont Hotel in Rosemont, IL. The Flyte Systems product is a wall-, floor- or ceiling-mounted high-definition, flat-panel screen designed to provide key informatiion for travel planning.
FlyteBoard is part of a suite from Flyte Systems. The other elements are:
FlyteTouch, which enables guests to search flight information by touch screens that display real-time flight arrivals and departures for one or more airports
FlytePass, enabling guests to print free, scure boarding passes at all-wood kiosks
FlyteChannel, which allows guests to view flight arrival/departure screens on the televisions in their rooms.
In addition to providing airline information, FlyteBoard can be customized to offer information specific to the property and the area. It also can help generate extra revenue for the hotel.
“It is a valuable amenity that helps us gain more guest ‘market share,’” says Christian Jacoby, sales director for the Hyatt Rosemont. “When guests check the lobby FlyteBoard and see their flight is delayed, they usually head to our outlets to relax in comfort until their new departure time.”
FlyteBoard leverages web-based technology. At the Hyatt Rosemont, the FlyteBoard screen has been mounted on the wall adjacent to the front desk. It shows airline information specific to nearby O'Hare International Airport.
“Virtually all of our guests fly in and out of O'Hare, so it makes perfect sense to provide live airline information services,” says Jacoby. “Flyte Systems' airline information comes to the property over our existing high-speed Internet connection,” he adds.
