His company offers the Crypto Acoustic Credential Upgrade Module, designed to allow most electronic locking systems to be compatible with mobile devices so guests can use those as keys to bypass the front desk and check in … Intelity unveiled its “Ice Sculpture,” 64 in sync iPads used to illustrate the services and benefits brought to guests and hoteliers through the company’s Interactive Customer Experience (ICE) technology … Aptech Computer Systems showed off its new Executive Business Intelligence system that delivers interactive reports to mobile device platforms … Ivana Johnston, of NORTHWIND Maestro PMS, coined the term “facebookers” — which was new to me at least, and described people who reserve rooms on Facebook … Maybe not the highest-tech gadget I saw, but one of the most impressive: The inventory control system from InvoTech Systems uses RFID technology to help large properties track and manage uniforms and linens … EZYield unveiled its new Fuzion Hospitality Suite of reservation capabilities … Both Lixto and SAS impressed upon me how social media and revenue management could be, and should be, intertwined … Pegasus launched ContentHub, a solution allowing hotels to combine images and text updates to alternative and global distribution systems, ensuring all content is kept current across all channels … VingCard Elsafe unveiled a smart check-in solution using Near Field Communication (NFC) allowing guests to bypass the front desk with NFC-enabled mobile devices used as keys … Ariane Systems offered a slightly different take on the front-desk bypass, with its Allegro mobile system for check in. Guests would use their mobile device at a self-serve kiosk to get an activated keycard.
