Construction to Start Next Year for 2012 Opening
A city agency voted Tuesday morning in favor of granting developer Two Trees Management $15 million in tax-exempt bonds to restart a stalled boutique luxury hotel project in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The decision had been highly anticipated. The developer, headed by David Walentas, a man known for leading the transformation of gritty Dumbo, Brooklyn, into an up-and-coming area, plans to build a 73-room hotel in a 41,000-square-foot former textile factory at the corner of Wythe Avenue and North 11th Street.
