Nashville Convention Hotel Gets Approval

800-Room Omni Could Open by 2013
Another landmark on the Nashville skyline will begin to rise out of a downtown parking lot sometime next year, giving Nashville an $850 million convention center complex. The Metro Council unanimously approved a development agreement with Omni Hotels on Tuesday. The Irving, Texas-based company got the go-ahead to pursue full designs and construction of the 800-room, $273 million hotel across Fifth Avenue South from the $585 million Music City Center.
