Fourth Quarter Earnings Down 44%
Casino earnings plunged 27 percent last year as the fragile economy and competition in surrounding states made it more challenging for Atlantic City’s gaming industry to make money. Altogether, the 11 casino hotels posted gross operating profits of $534.9 million in 2010, compared with $729.7 million in 2009, year-end figures released Monday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement show.
